Gold Plating

Our gold-plated pieces feature 18K gold electroplated onto stainless steel for a radiant finish. Gold-plated jewellery naturally requires gentle care, and some gradual fading or softening of the plating will occur over time. This is a normal characteristic of all plated metals and not considered a fault. With proper care, your pieces will stay luminous for longer.

To preserve your pieces:

• Remove before swimming, showering, or exercising
• Avoid contact with perfume, lotion, or hair products
• Handle with clean, dry hands
• Gently wipe after each wear with a soft, non-abrasive cloth

Everyday Care

Gold plating benefits from mindful upkeep to retain its lustre. Over time, some soft wear or fading is completely normal. With consistent care, your jewellery will continue to look luminous and refined.

Everyday care tips:

• Clean occasionally with warm water and a mild gold-safe jewellery cleaner
• Avoid paper towels, tissues, or abrasive materials that may scratch the surface
• Pat dry thoroughly before storing

Water Exposure

Our jewellery is water-resistant and can handle light splashes during wear. However, it should not be submerged in water for long periods, as extended exposure may affect the longevity of the gold plating.

Storage

Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or jewellery box to prevent scratching or tangling. Keep jewellery away from direct sunlight, heat and humidity to preserve its finish.

Gemstones

Handle gemstone pieces with care. Though durable, stones can chip or loosen if dropped or stored incorrectly. Keep them in individual pouches or compartments.

Sensitivity

All Forward & Tame jewellery is hypoallergenic. If mild irritation occurs, applying a thin layer of clear nail polish to the inner surface can help create a comfortable barrier.

Tarnish Resistance

Our pieces are tarnish-resistant, meaning they maintain their colour and shine longer than standard gold plating. However, exposure to water, friction or chemicals can cause gradual wear over time. With mindful care, your jewellery will continue to look radiant and sophisticated.
